Mable Patricia Harris Porter

Mable Patricia (Harris) Porter, 59, a resident of New Castle, IN passed away Friday, October 18, 2013 at Henry County Hospital in New Castle following an extended illness. Mable was born November 22, 1953 in Dayton, Ohio. Mable was born to Bessie P. Young of New Castle, IN and the late Willie James Harris.

She attended New Castle High School, and later earned her GED. Mable was a member of Bethany Tabernacle Church of New Castle, IN. Mable enjoyed shopping, talking and spending time with those she dearly loved.

Mable leaves to cherish her memory a husband, Paul Porter of New Castle, IN; One grandson, Samuel Robinson of New Castle, IN; a mother, Bessie Young of New Castle, IN; daughter in law, Joann Robinson of Rushville, IN; one brother, Floyd Harris of Indianapolis, IN; sisters, Brenda E. Bell (fiancé, Bernard Lee) Kokomo, IN, Joyce Harris of New Castle, IN, Susan Harris of Indianapolis, IN, Jane Harris of New Castle, IN; several nieces and nephews: Chala Fox (husband, Darnel Fox) of Fishers, IN, Sarah Lyon (husband, Alan Lyon) of New Castle, IN, Joseph, Olivia, and Malachi Harris of Indianapolis, IN, Angelo and Ernesto Harris and Josh Cridge of New Castle, IN, Amani Hall of Fishers, IN and several great nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Mable was preceded in death by her father, Willie James Harris and Stepfather, Sanders Young; her son, Jason Robinson; sister, Kathy Payne; granddaughters, Jessica and Ashley Robinson, and grandson Michael Robinson; father in law, Rev. Porter and mother in law, Mrs. Porter.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Bethany Tabernacle Church, 402 S. 18th St. New Castle, IN with Assistant Pastor Juanita Suggs officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Bethany Tabernacle Church.
