Madge Calderia, 76, of New Castle, passed away following an extended illness on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at Heritage House Rehabilitation Center in New Castle. She was born September 21, 1932 in Rogers, Arkansas to the late Bill and Beulah Presley.
A homemaker, Madge enjoyed sewing, making clothes, embroidery, quilting, and growing flowers. She also enjoyed collecting wind chimes. She was the best mother in the world and was always there for her children; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren whom she loved very much.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years John Calderia Sr. of New Castle; a son: John (fiancé: Connie Acton) Calderia Jr. of New Castle; a daughter: Gail Mastin (Jim) of New Castle; grandchildren: Bert (Angie) Acton of New Castle; John Mastin of Oklahoma; Kevin Mastin of New Castle; Tresa (David) Matthews of Fortville; a sister: Clara Birmingham of San Antonio, TX; great-grandchildren: Aaron Henderson; Justice Mastin of New Castle; Dyllan Matthews of Fortville; and Anthony Acton of New Castle.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; and one brother.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Rev. Paul Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memory Gardens.
