Manford O. Lockwood, age 101, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2013 at his residence. He was born February 27, 1912 in Enid, Oklahoma to the late Loy O. and Edith (Beach) Lockwood.
He retired from Lockheed Aircraft Corporation in Burbank California in 1976 following 35 years of service. He was a master gardener and woodworker.
Survivors include two daughters, Arla Cope of Springport and Dimples (Garry) Wilson of Springport; a son, Keith Lockwood of Chico, CA; seven grandchildren, Annie (Don) Miller, Lisa (Joe) Hillman, Jay (Stephanie) Wilson, Kelly (Kay) Wilson, Randy Cope, Penny (Shawn) Mittag and Amy (Brant) Schuler; eleven great grandchildren, Jayson Wilson, Kate Hillman, Chandlier Wilson, Annaliese (Seth) Thomas, Russell Cope, Jr. Allison Cope, Christina Cope, Christopher Cope, Alexandra Lockwood, Brittany Mittag, and Dylan Mittag; a great-great granddaughter, Serynity Grace Wilson; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Lockwood; two brothers; a sister; a son-in-law; a daughter-in-law; a grandson.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. There will be no public calling. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be given to the Children's Perch Church ministry c/o Springport Christian Church, P.O. Box 417, Springport, IN 47386.
