Marcella Fern Clapp, age 85, of Spiceland, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at her residence. She was born October 27, 1926 in New Castle, Indiana to the late Verl and Lidia (Kelly) Mogle.
She was a member of the Knightstown Christian Church and also a member of the Mothers of Veterans. She retired from Modernfold in 1988 following 34 years of service. She loved to bowl.
Survivors include her children, Janet (Clapp) (husband, Timothy) Goodwin of New Castle, Randy (wife, Michelle) Clapp of Spiceland and Michael (wife, Sharon) Clapp of New Castle; grandchildren, Teresa (husband, Dennis) York of New Castle, Sam Goodwin of Knightstown, Dallas (wife, Misty) Clapp of Lewisville, David Leon (wife, Kelly) Clapp of Connersville, Amanda (husband, Gary) Feaster of Parker City, Justin Charles Clapp of New Castle and Larry Clapp, Jr. of Greenfield; nine great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Bobby (wife, Joanie) Clapp of Spiceland; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Mitch” Clapp in 1997; sons, Larry Clapp, Sr. and Charles Frederick Clapp; grandson, Randy Michael Clapp; one great grandson, Aidan Lee Clapp; two brothers; two sisters.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Richard Thayer officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday, October 26, 2012 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Knightstown Christian Church, 138 W.
