Marcia Blevins

Marcia A. (Emerson) Pierce Blevins, age 43, of New Castle, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2009 at her residence. She was born January 18, 1966 in Guam to Clarence and Elizabeth (Kanarr) Emerson.

She was a 1984 graduate of Charles A. Beard High School. Marcia was a loving and caring mother. She always had a smile on her face, loved to talk, and so much fun to be around. Growing up Marcia loved riding horses. One of her favorite past times was playing pool. Marcia was employed with United States Postal Service in Muncie with 19 years of service.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by two daughters: Brittany Pierce and Shelby Pierce both of New Castle; a brother: Gary (wife: Eileen) Emerson of Richmond Hill, GA; nieces: Jessica Emerson of New Castle and Erin Emerson of Richmond Hill, GA; nephew: Michael Emerson of Richmond Hill, GA; aunt: Miriam Funk of Chambersburg, PA; uncle: Dorsey Emerson of New Castle.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents: Perry and Elizabeth Kanarr; paternal grandparents: Howard and Pearl Emerson; a brother: Clarence Emerson Jr.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2009 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Marion McFarland officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
