Margaret R. Moore-Blevens, 85, died in her sleep Thursday, January 29 At Hearth at Stones Crossing in Greenwood, IN She was born December 17, 1923 in Athens, AL.
She and her first husband, Don E. Moore owned and operated the True Value Home and Auto Store in New Castle until his death in 1977. She continued to operate the store until she retired in 1984. She married Jay Blevens in 1982 and they moved to Florida in 1984 where she lived a good and happy life. After the passing of her second husband in 1997, Mrs. Blevens moved back to Indiana to join her family in the greater Indianapolis area. She was a member and past president of BPW in Muncie. She loved sewing and playing shuffle board. A very independent woman, she loved people and was always reaching out to help others.
Mrs. Blevens is survived by her son: Ronald (wife: Sandie) Moore of Greenwood; stepson: Jeff Blevens of Mystic, CT; stepdaughter: Patsy Newton of Brookville; sister: Dean Farrow of Boyton Beach, FL; three grandchildren: Tammy Goodin of New Castle; Matt Moore of Indianapolis; and Jennifer Hornby of Chicago, IL; five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands: Don Moore and Jay Blevens; three brothers and a stepdaughter: Peggy Paddock.
Services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Jack Hannum officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery.
