Margaret L. Chesher, 90, of New Castle passed away Monday, May 4, 2020 at the home of her daughter in Cocoa, FL. She was born March 24, 1930 in Scott County, IN, a daughter of the late Delmar and Mary (Ramsey) McCaslin.
A homemaker most of her life, Margaret enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Known to be a “people person”, she enjoyed family gatherings for any event, and loved going places, as recent as going to Sea World last year with her family. She had attended Whittier Lane Baptist Church in New Castle.
She leaves to cherish her memory, four children, Steve Chesher of Spiceland, Connie (Ray) Bernier of Cocoa, FL, Frank (Tammy) Chesher of New Castle, and Sandra (Jack) West of Cocoa, FL; six grandchildren, Eric (Kristy) Chesher of Spiceland, Angela Thornsberry and Lonnie (Jen) Thornsberry, both of Cocoa, FL, Ryan (Hannah) Chesher of New Castle, Teresa Chesher of Spiceland, and Israel (Margaret) Chesher of Spiceland; eight great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Chesher; two grandchildren, Amy Chew and Brandon Chesher; two great grandchildren, Patrick Chew and Tiffany.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service with Rev. Frank Wood Jr. officiating. Entombment will follow at Green Hills Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Monday, May 11, 2020 at the funeral home, where the Governors mandate of 25 or less people (at a time) and social distancing will be observed.
