Margaret (Spitler) Rasor, 99, a resident of Charlottesville passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Golden Living Brandywine Center in Greenfield. She was born September 12, 1915 in Prebble County, Ohio to the late Ormal and Pearl (Arnold) Spitler.
Margaret retired as a Postmistress for Charlottesville after 23 years of service. She had also owned and operated a beauty shop out of her home. She was a member of the Chapter of War Mothers, Tuesday Club, Cystic Fibrosis association and Wayne Township Home Ec Club. Margaret also belonged to the Charlottesville United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women’s Society, Mental Health Association, Family Circle and Charlottesville Bunco Club. She was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Reds and Chicago Cubs.
Survivors include two sons: John (Jamie) Rasor and Peter (Peggy) Rasor, both of Greenfield; two daughters: Joyce (Don) Griffith and Janet King, both of Greenfield; 12 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: James G. Rasor; son-in-law: Jerald King; granddaughter: Cheryl King; a brother: Kenneth Spitler and 3 sisters: Helen Watt, Irene White and Elinor Williams.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Marianne Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery, Knightstown Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 28 at the funeral home.
