Margery Cash

July 19, 1926 — April 25, 2009

Margery (Marge) Elizabeth Cash, age 82, passed away Saturday April 25, 2009 after an extended illness. She was born July 19, 1926 in Marrowbone, Kentucky to the late Caleb A. Page and Amy L. Smith Page.

Margery attended nurse's training at Berea College and was employed in the medical practice of Dr. David Cain from 1961 until her retirement in 2005. She was known to many patients in the practice simply as Marge. A forty year breast cancer survivor, she owned and operated a mastectomy bra and prosthesis sales and fitting service through which she assisted many breast cancer survivors for twenty years.

She enjoyed entertaining and spending time with her family and friends to whom she was lovingly known as Mom, Mamaw, G.G., Marge, Aunt Margie and Marge-my-Marge. An excellent cook, she took great pride in making the lightest and fluffiest chicken and dumplings this side of heaven. She had loved horse back riding on her Tennessee Walker Dan, enjoyed cross word puzzles, camping, fishing and gardening flowers and vegetables.

Margery is survived by her son, Jerry W. (wife: Ladona) Cash; a daughter-in-law, Mona Cash; two grandchildren, Piper Nicole (husband: Devin) Hawk, and Jeremy Scott (wife: Carmen) Cash; five great grand children, Makenna Alyse and Myah Alivia Hawk, Kiela Nevaeh, Grant Isaac Cash and a soon to be born great grandson; several nieces and nephews, several very close and dear friends and her faithful dog Ellie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Waymon H. Cash; a son Larry H. Cash; brothers John S. Page and Fraley N. Page.

Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday April 29, 2009 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow at Circle Grove Cemetery in Spiceland. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
