Margie A Green

May 3, 1926 — November 14, 2013

Margie A. Green, age 87, of New Castle, Indiana passed away Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Miller's Merry Manor in Middletown, Indiana. She was born May 3, 1926 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Clifford and Regina (Burton) Woelfel.

While working as a nurse's assistant at St. Elizabeth hospital, she met Ben Green while treating his mother. They married in March, 1946. They lived in Cincinnati for many years until Ben got transferred to New Castle. She worked as a registered nurse at Henry County Memorial Hospital after graduating from Ball Memorial Hospital in 1968. She enjoyed her work and took gratification in being able to help others.

Ben and Margie loved camping, and they spent many years traveling in their beautiful camper to their two favorite spots in Michigan and Florida, making friends and enjoying the outdoors. Margie would so enjoy having fish fry's with her friends and neighbors and showing you around their camps. She also had such excitement finding garage sales and antique shops, always looking for that one special something.

Margie was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in New Castle. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts, and family members still have treasures that she made and gave out on special occasions. She was also a fantastic cook, and any trip to Margie's house would be rewarded with meals and treats you couldn't beat at any restaurant in town. Margie adored her dogs, and they were all definitely spoiled beyond belief. From Potsy to Bamboo to YumYum, and every dog in between, they were truly the love of her life.

Margie always remembered her family, and never a special occasion went by that she didn't acknowledge in some thoughtful way. From birthdays to anniversaries to graduations, from Christmas to Easter to Valentine's Day, she always gave a card, gift, or phone call to let you know she was thinking of you. A special relationship developed with her sister-in-law, Ann, after both husbands had passed away; they called each other every evening to just check up and share the day's events with one another.

Margie, we will remember you as a Thoughtful, Kind, Caring, Patriotic, and a truly Loving child of God. We will miss you. Rest in peace.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Ann L. Woelfel originally of Harrison, Ohio, now residing in Wellington, FL; nephew, John R. (wife, Mary T.) Woelfel of Wellington, FL; great nephews, Jonathan Woelfel of Deerfield Beach, FL, Jason Woelfel of Wellington, FL and Joshua Woelfel of Wellington, FL; a great niece, Jennifer (husband, Miller) Tisson of Colorado Springs, CO; very close friends, Beverly and Dudley Guffey, Annette and Rom Schroder, Sandy and Gary Murray and so many other wonderful friends that meant so much to Margie.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin F. Green in 1996; her brother, Eugene B. Woelfel in 2006; and a sister-in-law, Cora Carson.
