Marie King, born on July 26, 1934 in Batesville and left this world peacefully November 5, 2024 at the age of 90. Her home in Rushville was a cozy haven that always welcomed friends and family with open arms. The savory aroma of her famous home-cooked meals was always present, especially during Christmas time.
Marie was a devoted wife to the late Arlan “Bud” King with whom she shared a blessed marriage of over 56 years. Their love story began with a winter wedding on December 26, 1964. He preceded her in death on April 10, 2021. Marie and Bud were known for their barn/garage sales at the homestead on the corner of 900 North and State Road 3. She was a member of Center Christian Church since 1958. Marie truly enjoyed time with her granddaughters and great-grandchildren.
Marie is survived by her sons, Scott Brammer of Rushville, Tom Brammer of New Castle and sister-in-law, Sharon Parsley of Indianapolis. She will be missed by her granddaughters, Christy (Bruce) Angle of Rush County, Heidi (Tom) Hodges of Knoxville, TN, Jessee (Jon) Brammer-McCutchen of New Castle and 13 great-grandchildren.
Marie is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Howard Robert Brammer, Hugh Edwin Loudenback and Arlan “Bud” King, son, William “Clark” Brammer, great-niece, Kylie Kireta, sister, Carole Waltz and brother, David Parsley.
Services will be held Saturday, November 9, 2024 in Moster Mortuary at 1 PM with Pastor Bill Worrell presiding. Friends are welcome to visit the family from 11 AM until the time of service in the mortuary. Burial will be held in Center Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Donor’s Choice or to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
