Marilyn Jane Johnson, 70, of New Castle passed away Friday, January 17, 2014 at her residence. She was born September 11, 1943 in New Castle to the late Eldridge and Bertha (Sayre) Spicer.
Marilyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be dearly missed by her family. She was a very caring person and anonymous giver to her community. Marilyn attended the South Side Church of the Nazarene and had recently committed her life back to the Lord. She enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends.
Marilyn is survived by her husband of 30 years: Edward "Link" Johnson of New Castle; daughter: Theresa (husband: Anthony) Morgan of New Castle; step son: Eugene (wife: Sue) Johnson of Traverse City, MI; grandchildren: Eric (wife: Kimberly) Snodgrass of New Castle; Brian and Amber Neal both of New Castle; step grandchildren: Christopher Johnson of Traverse City, MI; and Jennifer Johnson of Traverse City, MI; great grandchildren: Ashlyn, Laycee, and Morgan Snodgrass; Norah White; Crystal Neal all of New Castle; siblings: William "Bill" (wife: Faye) Spicer of New Castle; Juaneta Stimpert of New Castle and Marvin Spicer of New Castle; special friends: Charlie and Ho Beaudry of New Castle; longtime friends: Charlotte Taylor and Wanda Bertram. Marilyn was also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her son: Kenneth Brian Pease and brothers: Harvey Spicer and Finley Spicer; infant sister: Donna Mae Spicer.
Services will be at 10:00 AM Monday, January 20, 2014 at South Side Church of the Nazarene, 2805 S. 14th St. New Castle with Reverend Michael Dees officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 2-6 PM Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
