Marilynn (Fadely) Montgomery, age 90, of New Castle, passed away Friday, June 21, 2013 at Rawlings House Health and Living Community in Pendleton. She was born September 13, 1922 in Middletown, Indiana to the late Orran F. and Irene (Hoover) Fadely.
She had worked at Walter P. Chrysler High School as a teacher’s aide and had previously worked with her husband at Standard Oil Bulk Plant in New Castle. She was active with her husband in the New Castle Breakfast Optimist Club. She was a member of the New Castle Home-Ec Club and the First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed card games and New Castle sports.
Survivors include four children, Mike Montgomery of New Castle, Marcia (Keith) Smith of Indianapolis, Melinda (Dan) Semler of New Castle and Mark (Debbie) Montgomery of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a sister, June Lennon of Middletown; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert “Bud” Montgomery in 2008and a sister, Joan Corn.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Tom McGilliard officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at the funeral home.
