Martha Lou Sheets Harvey, 88, of Muncie, IN, and recently a resident of Heritage Pointe, Warren, IN, passed away on March 28, 2017. She was born on February 24, 1929, in Henry County, Indiana, to Claude and Clara (Bowman) Sheets. She leaves behind two sons, Joe (Betsy) Harvey, Ann Arbor, MI, and Tom (Rosemary) Harvey, Warren, IN. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Katelin Harvey (Tony) Herber, Huntington, IN, Jon (Jessica Adamick) Harvey, Belchertown, MA, and Ben (Lisa) Harvey, Muncie, IN, as well as two great-grandsons, Joshua Herber and Walter Harvey-Adamick, and two great grandchildren on the way. She is also survived by one brother and sister in-law, Richard and Helen Sheets, DeMotte, IN, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father Milton Oxley, husband, Harold Francis Harvey, who died in 1959, and infant son, Daniel, who died in 1951. She also was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth Harrison, Mary Jane Cross, and Alice Wright, and by one brother, Charles (Bud) Sheets.
Martha Lou graduated from Center High School, Delaware County, IN, and attended Ball State University. She worked at Warner Gear (Borg Warner Corporation) in Muncie, retiring in 1992 after many years of service. She was a member of the Buck Creek Church of the Brethren. At the church, she served many roles. Martha Lou loved to read, sew, and make delicious pies and noodles. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at the Buck Creek Church of the Brethren, 8802 N. Buck Creek Pike, Mooreland, IN 47360.
