Marvin Sell

Marvin W. Sell, age 90, went to be with the Lord Monday, August 23, 2010 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born October 30, 1919 in Clinton County, Kentucky, to the late Marshall E. and Eunice (Wright) Sell.
He retired from Ingersoll Steel in 1982 following 32 years of service and had lived in this area since 1949. He served during WWII in the First Armored Division of the United States Army from 1940-1944 where he served in North Africa and Italy. Marvin was a member of Foursquare Church in New Castle. An avid gardener, Marvin has had a garden every year for the past 62 years.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Jewell E. (Martin) Sell of New Castle; two sons, Troy Martin Sell and Jeffery Dean (wife, Cinda) Sell both of New Castle; one sister, Olene Wallace of GA; one brother, Howard (wife, Martha May) Sell of KY; three grandchildren, Marty Sell, Matthew Sell and Shawna Sell; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Sell in 1948; brothers, Odell Sell and Herman Sell; four sisters, Lorena Finley, Imogene Perkins, Knoxie Riddle and Alice Hoots.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverends Charles McDonald and Jim Becker officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition. Military Rites will be conducted by the American Legion and the VFW.
