Mary Ruth Braga

April 26, 1935 — April 20, 2014

Mary Ruth Braga, 78, passed away Easter, April 20, 2014 in New Castle, Indiana.
Ruth was born in Fentress County close to Jamestown, Tennessee on April 26, 1935.

She moved to New Castle, IN when she was 16 and remained there until her death. She had a passion for life and enjoyed cooking for family and friends. She was always planting flowers and growing vegetables in her garden. Her favorite thing to do was going to garage sales and estate sales looking for treasures. She and her husband started their own antique business in 1967 and continued buying and selling until recently. People were always dropping by to have dinner, share stories, and play cards or just ‘hang out’. Ruth never met a stranger, took in any homeless cat or dog that found its way onto the property and was always willing to share her knowledge of antiques with anyone who asked.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, Cullom and Edna Crockett, three brothers, Clay, Jim and Steve Crockett, her son, Richard Booher and her nephew Jeffrey Hall.

Ruth is survived by her husband, Robert Braga, sisters: Sue Denson, husband, Richard, June Hicks, husband, Denver, daughters: Jenita Davidson, husband, Rodger, Susan Bozzo, husband, Michael and son Mark Booher, grandchildren: Ryan Wayne, Lauren Biscamp, husband, Michael and great granddaughter Elizabeth, Rachel Strunk, husband, Matt and great grandson Luke, Tyler Ditton, wife, Katie, and grandson, Samuel Booher as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial to celebrate Ruth’s life will be held at a later date, to be announced, for close friends and family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Memorial contributions may be given to the Henry County Humane Society, 11 Midway Dr., New Castle, IN 47362. You may express condolences or share a memory of Mary at www.hinsey-brown.com .
