Mary E. Buffington

Mary E. (Laird) Buffington, 89, entered into the presence of the Lord on Friday, August 26, 2022. Mary was born to the late William and Stella Laird. Mary met the love of her life, Chase Buffington, and they were married on March 6, 1954, and spent 63 years together.

Having a heart for missions, Mary worked 30 years for CSI ministries in Muncie, retiring in 2019.

Mary is survived by her two daughters: Toni (Kendall) Mosburg and Julie (John) Wegner. Grandchildren: Jessica Wegner, Jacob (Blair) Wegner and Jennifer (AJ) Connell all of Fort Wayne, and Ashlynn Mosburg of Indianapolis. Great-grandson JJ Wegner, sister Norma Jean Wilkinson and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Chase, and three brothers, Max, Harold and John Laird.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at the First Assembly of God in New Castle, Indiana, with visitation from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm prior, to the service, with Pastor Matt Malek and Reverend Steve Gallaway officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Eaton, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be given in Mary’s honor, to the First Assembly of God in New Castle.
