Mary Alice Hughes Caudill

Mary Alice Hughes Caudill went to be with the Lord on February 25, 2011. She was born April 30, 1941 in New Castle, Indiana a daughter of the late Robert and Sylvia Hughes.

Mary was a graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School and Indiana Business College before retiring from Modernfold with 34 years of service. She was a loving Mother, Nana, sister and friend to many who enjoyed spending time with each of these special people. Mary also enjoyed gardening and cooking.

She is survived by her husband Kendall Caudill of New Castle; a son: Toney (wife: Neenah) Spiker of New Castle; two daughters: Deborah (husband: Jeff) Polston of New Castle; Lori Spiker of New Castle; two stepdaughters: Kathy (husband: Audie) Latham of New Castle and Julie Daniel of New Castle; grandchildren: Whitney & Michalah Spiker and Cody & Bailey Polston; a brother: Robert (Bob) Hughes and half brother, Charles Hughes of New Castle; a half sister: Roberta (husband: Henry) Hill of Spiceland; Sisters in law: Alberta Hughes; Ruby Perry; Ernestine (husband: Everett) Guffey, all of New Castle; Christine Mitchell of Hopkinsville, Kentucky; a nephew; Chris Hughes; and several special step grandchildren, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson: Zachary Michael Gardner of Spiceland; a stepson: Kenny Caudill; two half sisters: Laura Huckaby and Alice Gordon of New Castle and several other family members.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Chris Gammello officiating. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 1. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
