Mary Champion, age 89, of New Castle, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Glen Oaks Health Campus. She was born September 2, 1923 in Athens, Tennessee to the late Joseph and Ida Mae (Rogers) Bowers.
Survivors include a daughter, Rebecca DeJesus of Chicago, IL; a son, Haskel Pruitt of Satelite Beach, FL; five grandchildren, Genaye Parodi, Braun Reyes, Alexci DeJesus, Heather and Heidi Johnson; three great grandchildren, Derren, Alfie and Olivia; brother, David (wife, Emmogene) Bowers of New Castle.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Witherby; son, Michael Johnson.
Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at South Mound Cemetery. Pastor Gene Bennett will officiate. Arrangements are entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. You may express condolences or share a memory of Mary at www.hinsey-brown.com .
