Mary “Jane” Comer, 97, of New Castle passed away Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Addison Place in New Castle. She was born December 4, 1922 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Redrick and Mary (Revelee) Reece.
Jane had been employed at Perfect Circle in New Castle as a welder and as a waitress at the Wagon Wheel in New Castle. She enjoyed square dancing with the Sutton Strutters. She attended First Christian Church in New Castle and was a member of the Moose Lodge. Jane loved and raised dogs and was an avid shopper, always looking for a bargain. She enjoyed entertaining and spending time with family & friends.
Survivors include daughters, Sioux Pierce of Woodland Park, Colorado and Debra (Marty) Weaver of New Castle; son, Don (Linda) Ballinger of New Castle; 7 grandchildren, Scott Pierce, Todd Pierce, Sabrina (David) Dodson, Sean Muha, Dawna (Kenny) Hardwick, Nick (Ginny) Ballinger and Rae Ann (Charlie) Helderbrand; 13 great grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Comer; a daughter, Phyllis Cooper; grandson, Jeff Pierce; and siblings, Raymond & Thomas Reece, Harriet Mattingly and Hazel Spears.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 3, 2020 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens.
