Mary R. Fitzpatrick, age 98, of New Castle, passed away Wednesday, August 03, 2011 at Stonebrooke Rehabilitation Center of New Castle. She was born September 9, 1912 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late George and Catherine (Reed) Cuthbert.
She was an accomplished seamstress, having made several wedding outfits. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in New Jersey. Mary enjoyed handcrafts, crossword puzzles, reading and playing scrabble.
Survivors include her son, William E. (wife, LoRae) Fitzpatrick of New Castle; four grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward D. Fitzpatrick; a son, Edward D. Fitzpatrick, Jr.; granddaughter, Tracy Ann Nickens; eleven brothers and sisters.
Services will be held at Shinn Funeral Home in Manahawkin, New Jersey at a later date. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Tuckerton, New Jersey. Arrangements are entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Online condolences may be expressed at www.hinsey-brown.com .
