Mary A. Huffman

Mary A. Huffman, age 94, of New Castle, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Henry County Hospital. She was born January 17, 1922 in Byrdstown, Tennessee to the late Cordell and Stella M. (Stockton) Ford.

She retired from the New Castle State Hospital on January 17, 1984 following 24 years of service. Mary was a member of Temple Baptist Church in New Castle. She enjoyed gardening, reading and crossword puzzles.

Survivors include her children, Gloria (Charles) Burke, Patricia Houser, Kay Vaughn, Teresa (Alden) Tabor and Judith (Tony) Rocco, all of New Castle; five granddaughters: Kim, Amy, Alycia, Carrie and Brittany; seven grandsons, Steve, Curtis, Greg, Brian, Matthew, Jeffrey and Derrick; 17 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; a sister: Vera Swift of New Castle; a brother, Tom (Peggy) Ford of New Castle; son-in-law: Gene Vaughn of New Castle; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Huffman; two sons, Gary and Mark Huffman; a daughter: Nancy Holder; great-grandson: Zack Neal; three brothers Wayman, Joseph “JC” and George Ford; a sister: Velma Orcutt; son-in-law: Steve Houser

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2016 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Bob Schon officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to Temple Baptist Church, 2937 Legion Dr. New Castle, IN 47362.
