Mary Imogene Reuter, of New Castle, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Stonebrooke Rehabilitation Center in New Castle following an extended illness. She was born July 16, 1926 in Bedford, Indiana to the late Charles and Pearl (Shirley) Miller.
A graduate of Shawswick High School, she retired from Dana Corporation in Hagerstown following 31 ½ years of service. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in New Castle and had taught classes with the Women’s Bible Study Fellowship. She had also volunteered at Henry County Hospital. Imogene was a very hard working, energetic and loving lady.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, whom she married April 28, 1945, John M. Reuter of New Castle; a son, John W. (wife, Rita) Reuter of New Castle; granddaughters, Amy (husband, Andrew) Newport of Fishers, IN and Amanda Reuter of Indianapolis; great grandsons, William and Benjamin Newport both of Fishers; brother, Robert P. (wife, Brenda) Hobbs of Joseph, OR.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother and his wife, Roy and Cybil Miller; stepfather, Frank Hobbs.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 23, 2012 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Denny Neal officiating. Burial will follow in McCray Cemetery.
