Mary Ellen Reyman

Mary Ellen Reyman, 85, of New Castle passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 in New Castle. She was born to the late Marvin and Helen (Luellen) Brown. Mary Ellen was also preceded in death by three brothers, Donald, Dale and Otis and a sister, Wanda.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Suzanne (Duane) Clark; granddaughter, Rebecca (Jerred) Byrd; great-granddaughter, Eleanor Byrd; daughter, Jeanne Reyman; grandson, Matt Reyman; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Mary Ellen attended Richmond High School and Jordan College of Music at Butler University. She graduated from Ball State University with a degree in Health Facility Administration. Mary Ellen was a professional dancer and percussionist with Jacks Xylophone Band before opening her dance studio Mary Ellen’s School of Dance. She was a co-owner of Weilands Flowers and The County Antique Store. She retired from the healthcare field, serving as activity director, social service designee and administrator of nursing homes. After retiring, Mary Ellen served as a foster grandparent, a (docent) for the Art Association of Henry County and volunteered at 109 Thrift Store. She was involved in the Area Council of Aging, Mental Health Associate, Homemakers Club, First Nighters Activity Association, Girl Scout Leader, Star Steppers Baton Corps, Dance Caravan USA and The Professional Act Directors org. Mary Ellen was a member of the First Christian Church serving her church as a wedding coordinator, being a deaconess, working with Kings Kids, VBS, the Foster Closet and a member of the hand bell choir.
