Mary Etta Sneed

Mary Etta Sneed, 78, a resident of New Castle passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at her home. She was born October 25, 1943 in Henry County to the late Ira and Mary (Bertram) Sneed.

Mary had lived in Kentucky before moving to New Castle about 20 years ago, where she loved being outdoors. She had owned a ceramic shop in New Castle and enjoyed playing cards at the Senior Citizen Center. She also enjoyed canning and cooking. Most of all, Mary enjoyed life and loved spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her children: Misty Thompson of Kentucky and Judy Reno of New Castle; goddaughter: Carrie (Clint) Stearns of Kentucky; grandchildren: Chris (Tisha) Thompson, Casey Beckner, Shawna (Angy) Malone, Johnny Reno, Brandy (Ramon) Baxin and Lilly Stearns; great-grandchildren: Lance, Courtney, Bradlee, Reaba and Madison Thompson, Makaila Marlow, Devin, Brodie, Anthony, Clayton, Logan and Ricky Reno, Cody Dobbs, Adriana Baxin and Darryen Poindexter; great great granddaughter: Cali White; sister: Elizabeth Griggs of Sulphur Springs ; brother: Rex (Sissy) Sneed of New Castle; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a very dear friend: Gloria Manuel of Ft. Wayne.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands: Dale Gossage and Ronnie Overton, Sr., son: Tracy Lee Gossage, granddaughter: Cheri Thompson; grandson, Ryan Reno; two sons-in-law: Fred Thompson and John Reno.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Saturday. You may express condolences or share a memory of Mary at www.hinsey-brown.com .
