Max Stailey Riddle, 73, of New Castle, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, September 11, 2016 at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born July 17, 1943 in Shirley, Indiana to the late Jesse and Mada Riddle.
He retired from Chrysler Corporation in 1998 where he was a member of UAW. Max owned Max S. Riddle Building and Remodeling. He was a Trustee for Greensboro Township and a member of the United Methodist Church of Greensboro. Max was on the Henry County Mounted Patrol from 1970-1974. He enjoyed country and gospel music. Max loved to sketch, woodworking, was an avid Colts fan, and loved spending time with his family. He adored his wife.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Melba Riddle; sons, Keith Ferrell, Mike Ferrell, Steve (Kathy) Ferrell and Tim Fowler; brother, Lewis (Judy) Riddle; sisters, Phyllis Harris and Avis Hughson; eight grandchildren, Keithea (Clint) Hollars, Stephanie (Ben) Madison, Jami Ferrell, Chris Ferrell, Josh Fowler, Dustin Fowler, Jacob Ferrell and Leigh Ferrell; twelve great grandchildren, and expecting a great-great grandchild in January; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Donald Riddle; daughter-in-law, Karen Ferrell.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 16, 2016 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Cindy Upchurch officiating. Burial will follow in Hicksite Cemetery.
