Maxine Sparks

Maxine McCartt Wright Sparks, 97, of Dunreith, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2011 at The Waters of New Castle. She was born March 6, 1914 in Glen Mary, TN the daughter of Jasper Robert and Minnie (Welch) McCartt.

Maxine was a 1932 graduate of Stearns High School in Stearns, KY. A homemaker most of her life, she lived in Dunreith since 1956. Maxine loved the Lord and read her Bible every day while she was able. She also loved her family and enjoyed spending time with all of them.

She is survived by her husband: Erna Sparks of Dunreith; children: Ray C. (wife, Carol) Wright of Shirley, Robert C. (wife, Joyce) Wright of McKee, KY, John N. (wife, Mae) Wright of Corbin, KY, James N. (wife, Bobbie) Wright of Corbin, KY, Bill A. (wife, Cindy) Wright of Spiceland, Bruce A. (wife, Martha) Wright of Dayton, OH, Betty Rose of Knightstown; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great and great-great-great grandchildren; a brother: Vance (wife, Millie) McCartt of Winter Park, FL.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband: Raymond Wright; a daughter: Mary M. Fannin; brothers: Virgil, Vernon and Victor McCartt.

Services will be at 1:00 PM Monday, June 6, 2011 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Randy Gross officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery.
