Mearledean Hunt, 81, of Losantville passed away Thursday, October 19, 2017 at The Waters of New Castle. She was born April 28, 1936 in New Castle to the late Ellery and Edith (Metsker) Corkell.
She had been employed at Anchor-Hocking in Winchester and at Butler’s Gift Shop in Muncie. Mearledean was a member of Antioch Christian Church in Losantville and Red Cross Volunteer at Reid Hospital in Richmond for eight years. She loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 63 years, Conrad Dean Hunt of Losantville; two sons, Rick (Kathy) Hunt of Columbia City and Mark Hunt of Losantville; three grandchildren, Jana (Scott) Tyree of Columbia City, Matthew (Bethany) Hunt of Stevensville, Michigan and Abbie Hunt of Muncie; five great grandchildren, Rowan, Liam and Colin Tyree of Columbia City, Mackenzie and Raylynn Hunt of Stevensville, Michigan; one sister, Marcella (Jeff) Dickey of Gaston; one brother, Eugene Corkell; and several nieces, nephews & cousins.
In addition to her parents, Mearledean was preceded in death by a son, Martin Hunt.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 23, 2017 at Antioch Christian Church, 101 W. John Street Losantville, IN 47354, with Rev. Albert Oren and Pastor David Craw officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Gideon International, P.O.
