Melissa A. Hilbert

Melissa “Missy” A. Hilbert, 53, of New Castle, passed away Friday, April 14, 2023 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born November 25, 1969 in New Castle the daughter of David and Rosemary (McGaha) Hilbert.

Missy was a 1988 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School. She was a member of Faith Chapel Independent Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School for over 30 years and she dearly loved her church family. Missy’s life centered around the Lord. She enjoyed watching college basketball, especially IU, and eating at Stacks with family and friends. Missy was Rosemary’s caregiver for the last several years.

She is survived by her mother, Rosemary Hilbert of New Castle; sister, Angie (Jim) McDonnell of Anderson; aunts, Chris (Phil) Brown of New Castle and Thelma (Jack) Hilbert Catron of New Castle;
several cousins; special friend, Jessie Turner; dog aunt to Zoe and Boon.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by several aunts and uncles; grandparents, Roy and Rose McGaha and Jessie and Bessie Hilbert.

Services will be at 1:00 PM Friday, April 21, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastors Eric Bowling and Phil Brown officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery West Lawn Addition. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Faith Chapel Independent Baptist Church, 359 E. Morgan Street, Knightstown, IN 46148.
