Melvada E. Peters

Melvada E. Peters, 88, of Knightstown, passed away Monday, January 4, 2016 at Springhurst Health Campus. She was born March 6, 1927 in Pleasant Plains, IL a daugther of William M. and Opal M. (Kinnaman) Clark.

Melvada had lived in Henry County since 1946. She worked in the Knightstown High School cafateria for several years. She was a member of the Raysville Friends Church.

She is survived by a daugther, Carol Ann (Jerry) Gideon of Spiceland; a son, Tom Peters of Knightstown; one grandchild, Brad Gideon of Spiceland; a sister, Wanda Clark of Greenfield; a brother, Dennis (Gerri) Clark of Knighstown; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Richard L. Peters; sisters, Marie Peters and Julia Nichols; brothers, Alva Clark and William Clark.

Visitation will be from 11 AM-1 PM Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel. Funeral Service will be at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery.
