Michael A. Johnson, 62, of New Castle died Saturday, August 7, 2010 at Henry County Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born October 13, 1947 in Rockford, Indiana, the son of Mary (Bowers) Champion.
He was employed as an automobile mechanic in California. Michael was affiliated with the Greensboro Church of the Nazarene. He loved to fish and hunt.
Survivors include his mother: Mary (Bowers) Champion of New Castle; and an aunt & uncle: David & Emogene Bowers of New Castle.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with the Reverend Gene Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. Tuesday until time of services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Greensboro Church of the Nazarene, c/o Reverend Gene Bennett, 3671 W CR 800 S. Spiceland, IN 47385. Online condolences may be made at www.hinsey-brown.com .
