Michael Ray Melton

Michael Ray “Mike” Melton, 70, of Spiceland passed away unexpectedly at Henry Community Health on Sunday, March 23, 2025. He was born in New Castle on March 11, 1955 to William and June (Smith) Melton.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 50 years, Tonny (Garvin) Melton; son, Michael Melton of New Castle; daughter Mandy (Chris) Miller of New Castle; grandson, Bailey Melton of New Castle; granddaughter, Charli Miller of New Castle; father and mother-in-law, Jack and Lois Garvin of Knightstown; brother, Danny (Rosie) Melton of Alabama; sister, Teresa Brown of New Castle; 3 fur babies, Auggie, Gunner and Percey; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by three brothers, Buddy Melton, Rick Melton and Bobby Melton and two Sisters, Phyllis Clark and Donna Poynter.

Mike retired from Verizon Wireless after 30 years of service.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Mark Herbkersman officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition in New Castle. Visitation will be from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
