Monte R. Gorman, 61, of Knightstown, passed away Thursday, May 06, 2010 at St. Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis due to complications of an acute illness. He was born April 29, 1949 in New Castle the son of Lawrence and Virginia (Ayers) Gorman.
Monte enjoyed building things and took pride in his work. He owned and operated Gorman Portable Buildings for 25 years and worked for Sheehan Construction for the past 12 years. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, fishing, and NASCAR. He loved his family and especially enjoyed playing cards, cars and watching Sponge Bob with his grandchildren. He loved home cooked meals and taking scenic routes in his new truck.
He leaves to cherish his memory with his wife of 30 years: Roxie (Roland) Gorman of Knightstown; children: Morgan (significant other: Zachary) Clements of New Castle, Randy (wife: Jill) Gorman of Knightstown, Casi Gorman (companion: Mike and kids) of Knightstown; grandchildren: Keegan York of New Castle, Bryce and Camden Gorman of Knightstown, Baylor Ray Clements, soon to be born grandson; siblings: Ginger Loveall of Knightstown, Duane (wife: Kyong) Gorman of South Carolina, Sandy Back of Knightstown, Susan (husband: Steve) Beeler of Rushville, Larry Gorman, Jr. of Knightstown; brothers & sisters-in-law: Larry and Kelley Roland, Darrell (Whitey) and Phyllis Roland; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters: Kathy and Peggy.
A memorial service will be at 4:00 PM Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Reverend Russ Hooker officiating. Friends may call from 2:30 PM to time of service.
