Monty D. Bulmer, 72, of New Castle passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at his home. He was born October 29, 1944 in Whitley County, KY to the late Clarence and Rachel (Bryant) Bulmer of Rush County.
He was raised on a farm in the Rush County area. He served in the U.S. Army and obtained his GED from New Salem High School. While serving in the Army, Monty was a Sergeant and stationed in Germany. He farmed and was a semi truck driver, worked at Imperial Wall Covering as a machine operator/mechanic for 20 years. Monty loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and gardening. He also enjoyed Country Western music, dancing, John Wayne shows and babysitting his grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Bethany Ann (Bulmer) Whybrew, husband Brian of New Castle and James Brian Bulmer of New Castle; grandchildren, Mason Andrew Warren, Madison Breann Rose Warren, Allie Grace Bulmer and Haidyn Finacy Bulmer; a brother, Ronald Bulmer, wife Betty of Rushville; and two nieces, Carrie Bulmer Fleming of Rushville and Misty Bulmer Paul of Seattle, Washington.
In addition to his parents, Monty is preceded in death by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Rick Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Summit Cemetery.
