Myron L “Barney” Humbert, age77, passed away Saturday, December 25, 2010 at his home in Mooreland. Born March 7, 1933 in Muncie, Indiana, he is survived by his wife of 24 years, Joy (Cable) Humbert. Also surviving are his two children, Lori Gayle Ferguson (husband, Todd) of Monroe, MI and Leslie C. “Whitey” Humbert (wife, Linda) of Conway, AR; grandchildren, Jessica VanAllen, of Jackson, MS, Adam VanAllen of Monroe, MI, Dalton Comini of Monroe, MI, Ashley and Brooke Humbert of Conway, AR; great grandson, David Humbert of Conway, AR and special friend Michael Braun of Mooreland. He also leaves behind seven step children, Diane Smith Huth (friend, Kevin See) of Albany, IN, Joseph Smith (wife, Julie) of Lakeland, FL, Charles David Smith (wife, Anita) of Anderson, IN, Tony Whitworth (wife, Kathleen) of Pleasanton, CA, Lisa Engle Sumner (husband, Kevin) of Frankton, IN, Lee Engle (wife, Marla) of Hickory Flat, AR and Lonnie Engle of Chesterfield, IN; step grandchildren, Adam Huth of Muncie, IN, Aaron and Austin Huth of Albany, IN, Randall L. Graves of Frankton, IN, Andrew Sumner of Ft. Riley, KS, Tanisha Wallace of Alabama, Chancellor Smith of Anderson, IN, Derek and Braden Whitworth of Pleasanton, CA, Garrett Ferguson of Monroe, MI and Jennifer Goodman of Anderson, IN; step great grandchildren, Taiara Lewis of New Castle, IN, Alleck Wallace of Alabama and Jacob Littell of Anderson, IN; sister, Jerry Alexander of Muncie, IN and brother, Don Humbert of Alexandria, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herschel and Eunice Jones Humbert of Muncie; first wife, Barbara Couch of Frankton; brother, Ray Humbert of Muncie; sister, Virginia Morgan of New Castle; sister, Mona Eustler of Muncie; a niece, Mona Jo Morgan White of Michigan.

He attended school at Wilson Elementary and Muncie Central and served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

He was employed by Coca-Cola, Pepsi-Cola, Blue Flame, Oakville Elevator and Luellen Farms in Mooreland, IN where he retired in 1994.

He was an avid rodeo cowboy back in the day and still very much enjoyed his horses. He also enjoyed sports of any kind and western TV movies.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow in Mooreland Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to Raintree Habitat for Humanity, P.O.
