Nancy Beavers

Nancy Beavers, 94, a resident of New Castle passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Addison Place Senior Living. Nancy was born January 1, 1928 in Orestes, Indiana and was the daughter of Cecil and Mabel (Hayes) French.

Nancy graduated from New Castle Chrysler High School in 1946 and served on her high school class reunion committee. She worked at Ameriana Savings Bank for many years. After retiring from the bank, Nancy and her husband owned the Consignment Shop and the Beaver Tree Shoe Store in New Castle. Nancy was an avid dog lover and rescued many dogs from local animal shelters as well as off the street.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Eugene (Carol) Keith of New Castle; also surviving are Randy (Kaye) Beavers of Bloomington, Kay (Mark) Christensen of Indianapolis; 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and two sisters, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of over 35 years, Charles Robert Beavers; her son Rick Keith who died in 1978, while serving our country; very dear friend Lucille Harless; a special niece who was more like a sister, Sue Ann Dawson and Rick Beavers.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Addison Place for the tender and loving care that they provided Nancy during the last months of her life. The family is also thankful for the Paradigm Hospice staff who provided guidance and care during her transition.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Tobby Smith officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition.
