Nancy Kay Erwin, 77, of Knightstown passed away Monday, November 18, 2024 at IU Health Methodist Hospital. She was born June 19, 1947 in Rushville to the late Hugh E. and Frances L. (Adams) Morgan.
A proud graduate of Mays High School, Nancy dedicated many years of her professional life as an Office Manager at Blue Cross & Blue Shield. Additionally, she played an integral role in the family business, Erwin Excavating. Nancy had a passion for creativity that shone through in her hobbies. She loved quilting, crocheting, and sewing, often creating beautiful pieces for her grandchildren. Her talents extended to gardening and canning. Known for her courageous and kind spirit, her happiness was infectious, and her loving nature endeared her to all who crossed her path. Nancy's proudest accomplishment was her family, who remained her primary focus throughout her life. She cherished every moment spent with them.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Bill Erwin; sons, James L. (Angi) Erwin, Jeff Erwin, Jerry A. (Renee) Erwin; grandchildren, James (Andrea) Erwin, Cole (Madeline) Erwin, Chelsea Erwin (J.D. Green), Morgan (Justin) Crockett, Kiley Erwin (Tyler Pfaff), Emma Grubbs, Parker (fiance' Madison) Barrett, Taylor McFerran; great grandchildren, Cooper and Kalli Erwin, Jameson and Jorie Green, Kensley and Laiklyn Crockett, Harper Barrett and one more due in June of 2025; siblings, David Morgan, Linda Weaver, Mary Brown, Beth (Jr.) Andrews and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a stepfather, Eugene Harold Dudley, great granddaughter, Ember Green; sister, Ellen Scott and daughter-in-law, Melissa DeAnn Erwin.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2024 at Center Christian Church with Pastor Darryl Denney officiating. Burial will follow at Center Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel.
