Nancy Louise King Lindsey went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 5, 2014, in Methodist Hospital. She was born on July 12, 1941 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. She attended schools in Indianapolis and Mooreland, graduating from Blue River Valley High School. She was a member of Foursquare Gospel Church, where she taught children's Sunday school classes. She was baptized at Foursquare on February 20, 1977.

She was the leader of a Girl Scout troop that grew to more than 50 scouts. She was an active member of the Parent-Teacher Association and New Castle Band Boosters. Nancy was a much-loved cafeteria employee at the New Castle 7th Grade Cafeteria. She was employed as a Q.M.A. at Oakwood Nursing Home. She was an Avon representative. She became an E.M.T. and retired from The Indiana Soldiers and Sailors Home for Children, working in the hospital and as a houseparent.

Nancy was a caregiver to both young and old. She was a volunteer at The Pregnancy Care Center and Cradles. She was also a child advocate for CASA. She provided end of life care for her granny, mother-in-law and mom.

Nancy loved being outdoors and often went hiking and on camping trips earlier in her life. She enjoyed going to the lake and visiting the Ohio River area. She enjoyed rides in her convertible and working in her flower beds. She loved to sing and music was a big part of her children's lives while growing up. She enjoyed studying history, focusing on the Civil War Era. She also enjoyed NASCAR and was an avid Colts fan.

She was preceded in death by her daddy, Kenneth E. King, and her mom, Doris (Estridge) King, her grandpa, Frank J. King, her granny, Minnie E. (Bottoms) King, father-in-law Fred W. Lindsey, her mother-in-law, Esther (Golliher) Lindsey, a cousin, Melvin King, and a grandson, Matthew Lindsey.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-five years, Dennis W. Lindsey. Her children include: Cheryl Lindsey Bennett, (Doug Steury), Thomas M. Lindsey, and Eileen J. (Jan) Lindsey. Brother, Royce E. King; Grandchildren include: Jon Lindsey, (Mandy White), Carri Lindsey Davis (Aaron) and Jenna Lindsey Short, (Tim), Laura K. Bennett (Kim) and Bradley J. Bennett, (Dino Mangano); Great-Grandchildren include: William Lindsey, Chase, Chloe and Claire Davis, and Natalie Bee Bennett; Cousins include: Mike King, Marty King, (Barb), and Bradley Johnson (Gail).
The family wishes to thank the following for the loving care provided to Nancy during her illness: Henry County Hospital staff, Glen Oaks Nursing Home staff, Methodist Hospital staff and doctors Jeffrey A. Breall, Robert W. Weller and David A. Hormuth.

Visitation and funeral will be at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle, IN. Visitation will be 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2014. The funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2014, with Reverend Jim Becker officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens in New Castle.
