Nancy H. Strunk, age 92, formerly of Chesterfield and Spiceland, passed away Monday, July 6, 2015 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Middletown. She was born August 25, 1922 in Glenmary, Tennessee to the late John K. and Sarrah A. (Stailey) Wright.
She was a former Spiceland resident, moving to Chesterfield in 1960. She had been a resident of Miller’s Merry Manor in Middletown for several years. Nancy was a member of Spiceland Friends Meeting. For many years she was the bookkeeper and pharmacy assistant at the Chesterfield Pharmacy. Prior to her declining health, she was known for her canvas and china painting. She loved gardening, quilting and sewing.
Survivors include three daughters, Kathy (Charles) Painter, Pat (Wayne) Bogue both of Spiceland and Jackie (Ron) Clendenin of Chesterfield; seven grandchildren, Michelle (Randy) Clapp, Monica (Dennis) Peavie, Linda Emerson and Mandy (Marcus) Boyd all of Spiceland, Cara Robbins, Mike Clendenin, Megan (Patrick) Williams all of Chesterfield; eleven great grandchildren, Audrey, Lindsey and Josh Peavie, Zach and Alyse Emerson, Taylor and Aubrey Boyd, Chase (Kayla) Craver, Michael Clendenin, Michaela (Mark) York and Lucas (Jordyn) Ellis; five great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas C. Strunk on November 8, 1992; grandson, Doug Clendenin; great granddaughter, Cori Lynn Clendenin; sisters, Gene Frances, Eunice Hembree and Betty Lambert; brothers, Raymond, Chet, John Jr. and Bill Wright; grandson-in-law, Ken Emerson.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2015 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Cathy Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Circle Grove Cemetery in Spiceland.
