Nanie W. Louise Stevens, age 90, of New Castle, passed away Monday, November 02, 2009 at Glen Oaks Health Campus. She was born December 3, 1918 in Albany, Kentucky to the late Lee and Cora (Melton) Willen.
She retired from General Motors following 32 years of service. She was a member of the 76th Baptist Church and has attended Foursquare Gospel Church.
Survivors include two daughters: Golda J. McWhorter of New Castle and Barbara A. Stevens of Richmond; two sons: Samuel O. (wife: Judy) Stevens of O’Fallon, MO and Mark L. (wife: Terra) Stevens of Spiceland; two sisters: Marylee McWhorter and Euladean Stearns both of Albany, KY; sixteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Ernest Stevens; two sons: Max L. Stevens and James R. Stevens; a daughter: Cathy Sue Stevens; three sisters: Maggie Hay, Maude McWhorter and Clarice Butler; three grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Charles McDonald officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery.
