Naomi B. Jackson

Naomi B. Jackson, 87, of Knightstown, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. She was born August 30, 1923 in Haldeman, KY the daughter of the late John and Stella (Egan) Butler.

She graduated from Haldeman High School and moved to the Knightstown area where she met and married Phillip M. Jackson on June 26, 1946. She later was manager for P. H. Hirsch in Knightstown and was a member of the Knightstown Christian Church.

Naomi is survived by her husband, Phillip; daughter, Barbara Mofield of Knightstown; son, Wayne of Bloomington; and daughter, Denise (Cliff) Stanley of Marion. Grandchildren: Kara (Scott) Lukens of Knightstown, John Philip (Megan) Stanley of Indianapolis, Faron (Kris) Luce of Muncie, James Stanley of Marion. Great-grandchildren: Leatris Cline and Jackson Lukens of Knightstown, and Stella Luce of Muncie. Brothers: John Paul Butler, Carl (Ruth) Butler, Hayden Butler, Ray Butler and Harold (Janet) Butler of Knightstown. Sisters: Letha Redmon of Greenfield, Charlene (Paul) Jensen of Knightstown and Shelia (Richard) Rawlings of Charlottesville; two sisters-in-law: Gloria Butler of Knightstown and Joyce Butler of Spiceland, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers: Arnold, Leon, and Richard Butler.

Services will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Richard Thayer and Anthony Darling officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 PM Tuesday. Online condolences may be expressed at www.hinsey-brown.com .
