Nathan W. Hamilton, Sr. 77, of Knightstown, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born April 19, 1935 in Placerville, Colorado a son of the late Harold and Gertrude (Carlson) Hamilton.
Nathan had been a Mason since 1966, was past Master of Lodge #16 in Knightstown, and also a member of the Shriners and Scottish Rite. He was an avid Colts, Pacers and IU fan. Nathan had been employed at Navel Avionics in Indianapolis for 17 years before he took over Hamilton Disposal from his father. He also worked at Henry County Youth Center for 10 years before retiring. Nathan was a former 10 year member of the Knightstown Town Board and former reserve Knightstown police officer. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was always laughing.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 24 years: Terri (Murray) Hamilton of Knightstown; two sons: Jeffrey Hamilton of Indianapolis, Ronald Hamilton of Knightstown; grandsons: Zachary (Latosha) Hamilton of Straughn, Wesley Hamilton (fiancé: Amanda Carter) of Greenfield, Jared Hamilton of Indianapolis, Ezekiel Hamilton of Greenfield; a brother: Stacy (Judy) Hamilton of MS; 3 sisters: Gloria Morris of Knightstown; Julia Young of MO; Leona Kelley of Rushville; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife: Elnora (White) Hamilton; a son: Nathan W. Hamilton, Jr.
Services will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, May 14, 2012 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Reverends George Maloyed, Jr. and Paul Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-6 PM Sunday with a Masonic Service at 5:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Knightstown Food Pantry c/o Knightstown UMC, 27 S Jefferson Street, Knightstown, IN 46148.
