Nellie M. Wilson-Brown, 99, formerly of Spiceland passed away Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Hickory Creek. She was born March 9, 1918 in Henry County to the late Orville and Gladys (Black) Vaughn.
She was formerly employed at Wilson’s Market in Spiceland and previously at Schuffmans Furniture in New Castle. Nellie was a member of the North 14th Street Church of Christ.
She is survived by two grandsons, Mark (Kim) Thornburg and Mike (Dena) Thornburg both of New Castle; great-granddaughter, Michelle Thornburg of Indianapolis; son-in-law, James O. Thornburg of New Castle; several nieces and nephews, several great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Elmer W. Brown, second husband Lowell Wilson, daughter, Sue Ellen Thornburg, brothers, sisters and a nephew, Phil Stafford.
Services will be at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Robert Caudill officiating. Burial will follow in Circle Grove Cemetery, Spiceland.
