Nettie Marie Lester

Nettie Marie (Perdue) Lester, age 76, of New Castle, passed away Sunday, November3, 2013 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born November 10, 1936 in Clinton County, Kentucky to the late Arthur and Elsie (Massengale) Perdue.

She retired in 1998 from the State Hospital in New Castle following 30 years of service. She enjoyed visiting church at New Covenant Worship Center and also traveling, including trips to Europe. Nettie enjoyed doing yard work, she always kept a pristine yard and kept her home in perfect order. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Nettie also loved cooking, and took great pride in cooking family holiday dinners,

Survivors include five children, Debra Lester-Wildey of New Castle, Ronald Lester of New Castle, Michael Lester of Springport, Michele (Ron) Lester-Howe of New Castle, Tonya Lester-Hill (Clive Samuels) of New Castle; eleven grandchildren, Angela Wildey-Conner, Christopher Wildey, Travis Hinton, Michael Lester, Wesley Lester, Sara Lester-Johnson, Alex Howe, Kyle Hill, Leigh Hill, Jennifer Hill and Allison Hill; fourteen great grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth Arvella Baker of New Castle and a brother, Claude "Junior" Massengale of Defiance, OH.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Edward Lester; a granddaughter, Melissa Wildey; a sister, Glenna Lowe.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 8, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Tom Preble officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition.
