Neva Berniece Miller

Neva Berniece Miller, 90, of New Castle, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 04, 2013 while in comfort care at Glen Oaks Health Campus. She was born September 20, 1923 in Wayne County, KY, a daughter of the late William C. and Mary E. (Davis) Davis.

A loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Neva was known as "Mamaw" to many, in addition to her own family. Known as one who loved helping people, Neva was a member of Charity Baptist Church in New Castle, where she had sang in the choir and was very active in the Women's group at the church. She enjoyed painting, sewing, cooking, and gardening. She also enjoyed southern gospel music.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Helen (husband, Guy "Pete") Rains of Somerset, KY; her son, Roger Glen (wife, Connie) Miller of Anderson; eight grandchildren, Elaine (Michael) Draise, Lisa Marino, Rob Rains (Lois Dobbs), Kelly (Ralph) Abston, Tina (Tim) York, Misti (Brad) Fanton, Traci Bolle, Leslie (Marcus) Carrow, Jama (Scott) Denninger, Misty McAtee, and Paula (Ryan) Cagley; several great grandchildren, Dylan, Brittany, Rachel, Brandon, Anna, Terry, Rachel, Saddie, Wesley, Aaron, Austin, Sydney, Gavin, Blade, Simon, John, Zach, Summer, Brileigh, and Bryceton, and Brandon.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Roy Miller; two sons, Kenneth Ray and Robert Gale Miller; a great granddaughter, Laken.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Charity Baptist Church in New Castle with Pastor Larrel Boling and Tim York officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
