Nina Lou Back, 73, of Knightstown, passed away Monday, September 27, 2010 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield following an extended illness. She was born May 18, 1937 in Henry County the daughter of the late Bert and Cora (Langley) Schaeffer.
She resided in Knightstown all her life and worked part-time at the Indiana Soldiers and Sailors Children’s Home in Knightstown. She was a member of the Northside Church of God in New Castle.
Nina leaves to cherish her memory a daughter: Terri (husband: Dan) Drysdale of Kennard; three sons: Jeffrey D. (wife: Lesa) Back of Knightstown, David (wife: Beth) Back of Carthage, and Kevin Lee Back of Knightstown; fourteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Chalmer Back; one sister: Evelyn Schaeffer; three brothers: Robert, Richard and Joe Schaeffer.
Services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, October 1, 2010 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Phil Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Thursday, September 30, 2010. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hancock Regional Hospice Foundation 801 N State Street Greenfield, IN 46140.
