Norma Bea McCutchen, age 81, of New Castle, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Henry County Hospital after an extended illness. She was born January 15, 1932 in Monticello, Kentucky to the late Carlos Nelius and Alma (Kinnett) Cooper.
She was a 1950 graduate of Wayne County High School. Norma attended Apostolic Pentecostal Church in New Castle. She had worked for several years at the home office of Val Discount Centers and had also worked as a waitress at Bill’s Diner where she was known as “Granny”. She loved spending time with her family and thoroughly enjoyed cooking meals for anyone who came through her door.
Survivors include a son, Gary (wife, Sue) McCutchen of New Castle; daughter, Debbie McCutchen (companion, Debbie Imel) of New Castle; grandchildren, Josh McCutchen of Brooklyn, New York and Jon (wife, Ashley) McCutchen of New Castle; great grandson, Carson Grant “Booger” McCutchen of New Castle; brother, Albert Cook (wife, Joanne) Cooper of Kokomo; sister, Betty (husband, Dick) Cross of Odessa, FL and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Wilson Everett McCutchen on August 16, 2003; daughter, Retha Faye McCutchen on December 16, 2011.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Gary McCutchen officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at the funeral home.
