Norman J. Hill, age 83, of New Castle, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at Community Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born June 18, 1930 in Shelby County, Indiana to the late Floyd J. and Delores M. (Holbrook) Hill.
He was a 1948 graduate of Knightstown high school, Norman owned and operated Hill Electric since 1972. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #91 for 50 years, the Eagles, Moose and American Legion. He served in the United States Army in 1951-1953 during the Korean Conflict as a Master Sergeant. He drove the athletic bus for several years and worked with and was on the board of the Trojan Boosters.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Hill of New Castle; sons, Troy Ray (Brenda) Hill of Murfreesboro, TN and Tony Lee (Lee Ann) Hill of New Castle; grandchildren, Derrick Hill, Trey Hill and Laura Hill; two great grandchildren, Madison and Dustin Hill; stepdaughter, Shirley Bilbrey; step grandchildren, Amy Stawick, Jamie Sadler and Jason Bilbrey; nine step great-grandchildren, Jessica Andrews, Ryan Stawick, Jacob Stawick, Danielle Sadler, Chase Sadler, Peyton Sadler, Blake Sadler, Colin Bilbrey and Brooke Bilbrey; half sister, Marjorie Brammer of Greenfield; half brother, Ronald Trimnell of Knightstown; several step brothers and sisters.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Clarence Trimnell; first wife, Beverly Hill; half sister, Nancy Carter.
Services will be at 12:00 p.m. Friday, August 30, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Steve Hickman and Chaplain Rob Mifflin officiating.
