Norman Y. Rogers, 88, a longtime and well-liked resident of Henry County, passed away February 20, 2024 at Glen Oaks Health where he had been residing since 2020. Mr. Rogers was a member and a trustee of Ninth Street Church of God.
Norman “Norm” Rogers was born in Salt Lick, Kentucky on July 10, 1935. He and his family moved to Indiana in 1940. Norm graduated from New Castle High School and worked in the family business, Rogers Building Center (later Rogers Paneling Center), for 30+ years.
Norm was preceded in death by his parents, Russell C. Rogers and Mary Jane (Razor) Rogers. He was also preceded in death by two of his six siblings, Murl Rogers in 1992 and Farris Rogers in 2003. Norman is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Linda) Bota, Lafayette, Mrs. Pomeroy (Charlotte) Sinnock, Clayton, GA, Mrs. John (Sally) Burch, New Castle; one brother, Michael (and Dawn) Rogers, Westfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle on Saturday, February 24th from 11:00 to 1:00. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m.. Pastor Allen Polston will preside. Burial will be in South Mound Cemetery.
