Ona Hill, age 96, of New Castle, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2011 at Heritage House of New Castle. She was born June 15, 1915 in Powersburg, Kentucky to the late Cyrus and Kate (Koger) Denny.
Ona was a homemaker most of her life, but did work in various restaurants in Kentucky for many years. She was a member of Southside Church of the Nazarene. Ona loved flowers and traveling.
Survivors include daughters, Jean (husband, Walter) Clark and Carolyn Witham both of New Castle; son, Russell (wife, Linda) Brown of Monticello, KY; nine grandchildren, Teresa (husband, Mike) Kreps of Albany, IN, Mike (wife, Angela) Clark of Greenfield, IN, Cindy (husband, Brad) Catron of New Castle, Brent (wife, Jamie) Brown of Muncie, Daniel (wife, Kelly) Brown of New Castle, Scott (wife, Joyce) Murphy of New Castle, Jeff Dane of Clearwater, FL, Tina Porter of New Castle, April Thompson of New Castle; sixteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Zelo Hill; infant son, Artie Ray; three brothers, Obie, Joe and Calvin Denny; a sister, Dora Denny.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Southside Church of the Nazarene in New Castle with Reverends Michael Dees and Mike Clark officiating.
